I don't know who is responsible about it but ...me and my boyfriend did the whole Ring of Kerry (The Kerry way) hiking route last month and it was beautiful, but because of all the rain most of the way was very muddy and bogie and that made everything much more difficult and almost impossible to walk. We did the Wicklow way as well and it had logs wherever there was a possibility of mud which helped a great deal.
I don't know when we will be there next but for all the others that plan to go there - you should do the same for this route!! it's beautiful but make sure the way is more suitable to walk in this conditions so if anyone who is responsible about seeing that - the glove is up ...Dasi
My daughter and I were on a hiking tour of the SW coast of Ireland and spent a few days in Caersiveen (sp?). The guest house we stayed at was directly across from the harbor from this castle. Our room was on the top floor of the house and had a little window looking out over the harbor. We came home late one night and, as we were getting ready for bed, I looked out the window and there, under a full moon, was the castle bathed in the moonlight. It was a magical moment as I reflected on the people that lived there so very long ago. A very special memory of our trip to this beautiful island.
